An Award! Woohoo!

An Award! Woohoo!

I haven’t been nominated recently for an award, but Cyranny, from Cyranny’s Cove, has nominated me for the Golden Bloggerz Award. She has so many visitors to “The Cove” that her nomination is an honour, and very humbling!  She is a consistent and faithful blogger, and is very kind to her followers. In fact, I have received a Christmas card from her for the last few years, which is always a nice surprise!

Here are the rules:

  1. Place the award logo on your blog.
  2. Mention the rules.
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and place a link to their website.
  4. Mention the award’s creator & provide a link too.
  5. Tell your audience 3 things about you.
  6. Nominate 10 – 20 people who deserve this award.
  7. Let your nominees know by messaging/commenting on their Social Media or their blog.
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions you want.
  9. Share 2-3 links to your best posts

Here goes: three things about me:

  1. I just became an official senior citizen, turning 65 this month. It sounds old, but I kind of like this age.
  2. I was adopted, and though I am happy to have grown up with my adoptive family, I was introduced to my biological mother, a half-sister, half-brother, and many others from my biological family through a set of “coincidences” and unexpected circumstances. (Someday I may write a few blog posts about how this all came about.)
  3. I am an avid crafter. I spend an inordinate amount of time in this pursuit, as well as in searching for new projects on Pinterest.

Cyranny’s questions:

Where do you find your inspiration? I think nature gives me the most inspiration. I find being outdoors with the flora and fauna is calming and mood elevating (except when the mosquitoes are biting, or if I get a spider on me. I guess I could have mentioned my arachnophobia above.)

Is there something you still prefer to do the good ol’ way, even if technology has evolved? I make lists on paper instead of using my phone like others may prefer. I like to be organized and find handwritten notes to myself helpful. (This is not because I’m now a senior citizen with a failing memory. I’ve always had lists all over the place.) I also use an old fashioned manual toothbrush, if that counts.

Would you rather be allowed to go where ever you want, but never leave your home country, or be allowed to travel anywhere in the world, but never be allowed back in your own country? I would seriously miss Canada if I left and couldn’t come back. There is so much to see here that I could travel for the next ten years and never see all it has to offer.

What day of your life would you like to be able to re-live whenever you wished to? I would like to re-experience the trip my husband and I took to the Maritimes a few years ago. If I had to pick one day out of the trip it would be the one we spent in Hopewell Park, New Brunswick.

When you get up, do you need time to slowly awaken, or are you in a good mood as soon as you spring out of bed? I am not a morning person. I’m not usually in a bad mood, but I like quiet and time to wake up.

My questions:

  • What have you missed the most during the COVID-19 pandemic?
  • If you had a time machine, what time period, and where, would you visit?
  • What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
  • Who taught you the most valuable life lesson, and what was that lesson?
  • What lifts your spirits when you feel sad?

Two or three links to my best posts: All I can do is list the ones that had the most traffic. Flight of the Snow Dragon, In Memory of the Lost, and My Grandcats. I’m not sure why these had the most views, but I guess people were curious about the content.

My nominees?

I don’t want anyone to feel obligated to respond, but if you like the sound of this award, I invite you to join in. There are so many blogs I enjoy reading, that I can’t narrow it down to just 20.
